Queensland State Relays Championships 2011
Regional Relays 2011 Results
Congratulations to all 45 athletes who competed at the
regional relay carnival on Sunday. We only had one athlete not show and
everyone put in a huge effort and showed great sportsmanship. All in all, it
was a glorious day and you all are CHAMPIONS!!!!!!
Special thanks to the athletes who competed up an age group
to help form teams - in particular to Kasey Landers and Jesica Draper who
competed up TWO ages moving from the U8s to run with U10 year olds to help out.
Thanks also to the parents who officiated on the day as well
as the parents who helped out running the high jump. We were never short out
there and boy was it hot!!!!!!
Although official results are yet to be released, Jimboomba
looks to have around ten relay teams through to the Queensland Little Athletics
State relay championships being contested at Nathan on December 10.

Jimboomba Little Athletics
Centre members competed strongly at the 2010 Queensland State Relay
Championships held at the State Athletics Facility at Mount Gravatt.
Despite having to compete in
heavy rain during a mammoth 12 hour carnival, Jimboomba athletes achieved great
results.
Zac McDonald and Nathan Wilkins
led the charge placing second in the U13
boys discus relay.
The centre’s distance medley
relay teams also did well with the U13 girls team of Madison Shay (200m),
Bianca Watkins (200m), Kailee Howard (400m) and Hannah Cox (800m) winning a
silver medal and the U17 girls team of Tyleah Quinn-Woldhuis (200m), Mahalia
Olive (200m), Jade Annakin (400m) and Jaimee Newton-Smith (800m) also picking
up silver.
The centre’s third medley
team of Kendal Newton-Smith (200m),
Bayley Quinn-Woldhuis (200m), Kyle Somerville (400m) and Blake Rogers (800m)
placed second in their heat and seventh overall.
In the younger age groups
Jimboomba was represented by Heath Cox-Probert and Jackson Nix in the U9 boys shot
put relay, Trent Fisher and Mathew Stockham in the U10s high jump relay and
Shantay Morris and Camryn Newton-Smith in the U11 long jump relay. All athletes
gained valuable experience.
Shantay and Camryn also
combined with Chiara Olive and Madison Kelly to compete strongly in the U11
4X100m relay.
The U14 girls team of Jade
Annakin and Mahalia Olive had both their long jump and high jump relays
disrupted by rain as did Tyleah Quinn-Woldhuis and Jaimee Newton-Smith in the
U17 long jump.

Browns Plains Carnival 2010
Regional Relays - Springwood - 2010

More than 50 Jimboomba athletes competed at the Regional Relay day at Springwood recently and did our centre proud.
Thank you to everyone who competed, in particular the children who ran
up an age to form teams, girls who ran with boys and those who competed
in extra events to help their team mates out. It was a l-o-o-ong
day.... but at least it didnt rain!! Well done everyone and a big
thankyou to all the parents that helped out on events, with out your
support the day wouldn't happen.
Full results will be posted on the notice board at the centre this Friday.
In all we got 22 children through to the state relay championships in a
number of age groups both in track and field. Well done everyone.

Algester Carnival Results

After four weeks of cancelled competitions due to
the weather, some of our athletes finally got to compete! We had seven athletes
compete at the annual Algester carnival on Sunday 17th October where they won 24
medals, A great result.

Jimboomba Little Athletics
enjoyed great success, winning over 50 medals & breaking 9
records at the Queensland Little Athletics Regional Championships held
at Cleveland on the 13-14th February. In total 53 club members aged
from 6-16 years competed over the two days

Triumph at State Relay Championships
Jimboomba Little Athletics teams won three gold, one silver
and two bronze medals at the annual Queensland Little Athletics State Relay
championships held at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre (QSAC), at
Nathan on Saturday.
This is Jimboomba’s best ever result at the championships
which this year attracted 1596 athletes from 58 little athletics centres
located throughout Queensland.
The U17 boys team of Liam Burnett, Tayem Renton, Tyson Jackson
and Lindsay Newton-Smith won the 4X100m event in a thrilling race which saw the
first three teams split by only seven one hundredths of a second. The four boys
then backed up to win the last event of the day, the U17 boys distance medley
(200m, 200m, 400m, 800m).
Tyson Jackson and Lindsay Newton-Smith also won the U17 boys
discus relay with a combined distance of 90.68m.
Jimboomba’s U9 athletes performed extremely well with Cody
Donnelly and Mathew Stockham claiming second place in the U9 boys discus and
Mathew then pairing with Trent Fisher to win the bronze medal in the U9 high
jump relay. The U9 track teams comprising, Trent, Mathew, Clay Hunter, Dylan
Tyler Moss and Zac Farrell also ran well in their 4X100m and 4X200m events.
The team of Madison Shay, Bianca Watkins, Kailee Howard and
Hannah Cox claimed bronze in the U12 girls distance medley event.
In total, Jimboomba had 30 athletes who competed at the
state relay meet and did the centre proud.
Other teams that ran well were the U10 girls 4X200m runners
(Chiara Olive, Shonee Giddings, Molly Rowe and
Camryn Newton-Smith) and the U11 boys 4X100m and 4X200m team (Jayden
Fielding-Smith, Lachlan Graham, Dylan Brennan and Connor Baylis).
Many personal bests were recorded by Jimboomba’s field event
relay teams: U11 boys high jump (Michael Parnell and Lachlan Graham), U12 boys shot put relay (Nathan Wilkins and
Jake Farrell), U13 boys high jump (Jeffrey Perera and Kendal Newton-Smith), U15
boys discus and high jump (Daniel Turner and Liam Burnett) and U17 girls shot
put, discus and long jump (Jessica Pickles and Breanna Grindrod).


2010 State Team
Members of the Jimboomba Little Athletics centre have done
exceptionally well at the Queensland Little Athletics state championships held
at Townsville at the end of March 2010..
Jessica Pickles won gold medals in the U17 1500m walk and
1500m run, silver medals in the javelin and 800m and a bronze medal in the discus.
Miranda Ricketts received a gold medal for winning the U14
800m and backed up with a fifth place in the 400m.
Tayem Renton won silver medals for the U17 boys 800m and
1500m,.
Rowan Browne placed
second in the U15 100m hurdles and third in the 2oom hurdles
Lachlan Bell won
bronze medals for the U12 boys 800m and 1500m.
Liam Burnett won a bronze medal for the U15 400m.
Jaimee Newton-Smith ran a 15 second PB to place fourth in
the U15 1500m and also placed 5th in the 800m.
Kailee Howard also just missed out on a medal placing fourth
in the U12 400m and 11th in the 200m. Also in the U12 age group,
Hannah Cox achieved top 10 finishes in both the 400m and 800m.
In the U9 boys Trent Fisher made the final of the 60m
hurdles and jumped a 1.05m in the high jump, Dylan Tyler-Moss made the final of
the 70m and also ran a fine 100m, Cody
Donnelly threw over 20m in the discus and Mathew Stockham jumped 1.05m in the
high jump.
Great results were also achieved by Nathan Wilkins in the
U12 javelin and shot put, Kendal Newton-Smith in the U13 javelin and Camryn
Newton-Smith in the U10 hurdles, long jump and walk.
Josh Buchmaier leaped 10.72m for a PB in the U14 boys triple
jump and Josh Clarke cleared 1.25m in the U13 boys high jump.
Under 13 athlete Jade Annakin also performed well in the
high jump, 100m and 400m.
In the U11 age group Jayden Fielding-Smith had a heavy
programme and competed well against strong competition in the 100m, 200m,
hurdles and javelin while Sarah Rogers jumped a fine 7.98m in the triple jump.
The
Jimboomba Little Athletics Centre held its annual presentation day on Sunday at
its Henderson Road
track.
The
winner of the Centre Manager’s Award for 2010 was Tyleah Quinn-Woldhuis and the
Rookie of the Year was Lauren Hanser.
